When you first touch foot on Anguilla and gaze around, your immediate impression is… “unassuming.” No majestic volcanic mountains. No hustle, no bustle. Calm.

Better than tranquil and more relaxed than laid back, Anguilla’s vibe is “cool without trying.”

Your first drive reveals a fairly flat land of palms and scrub… “unassuming” again. So far, there’s nothing to suggest that Anguilla could possibly be the best Caribbean island.

Behind that “unassuming front,” Anguilla reveals itself slowly…

A mere speck of desert in the northernmost Caribbean, the temperature and humidity are ideal. And the deserts turn into the most spectacular set of beaches, oft-voted “tops in the Caribbean.” You’ll discover…

Anguilla is, quite simply, “laissez faire.” No posing, no preening, no paparazzi (well, almost!). Everyone just does their thing. No one cares if the person sitting at the next table is Robert deNiro to Oprah Winfrey eating at Veya to staring out at a Yacht with Rihanna. The Anguilla-bound head here to just get away.

Anguilla is woven from the perfect threads of weather, food, beaches and people.

Details

Contemporary architecture frames stunning views of mountains and sea at this amazing Villa. This exquisite Blowing Point vacation rental shows off its oceanfront setting in thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor living areas.

The Villa opens to a beautiful stone terrace with a private pool, hot tub and row of loungers looking out to the ocean and the neighboring island of St. Martin. Try out local seafood on the barbecue, and sit down to the shaded al-fresco dining area to enjoy. Inside, you’ll find a fitness room, wine fridge, sound system and Wi-Fi to help you relax or entertain.

Walls of floor-to-ceiling windows and clean-lined architecture blur the lines between indoors and out at this luxury villa. Though the open-plan great room is well appointed with two sitting areas and a dining table that seats eight, the real focal point is the sea views that flood the space. The fully equipped modern kitchen even echoes the colors of the ocean in its sleek white cabinetry and turquoise backsplash and breakfast bar.

10 bedrooms in total between both villa’s, all with en-suite bathrooms and lounge areas, invite you to take a vacation from real life. There are three with king beds, including two with their own balconies overlooking the water, and two with queen beds. Touches like streamlined four-poster beds are a surprisingly contemporary update of traditional Caribbean style.

With postcard-perfect beaches but no large resorts, Anguilla is a favorite destination for holidays truly away from it all. Take your time strolling the secluded beach area only steps from the villa, or make the short drive to the island’s world-class West End beaches. Enjoy meals prepared by Omar’s Kitchen with some of the islands best treats.
